The Pomona Valley Audubon Society, a Claremont-based bird conservation group, has adopted a new name — the Pomona Valley Bird Alliance.
“Our new name is more contemporary, welcoming and inclusive — and better reflects our mission and values,” Tina Stoner, Pomona Valley Bird Alliance president, said in a news release. “Even with this change, our mission remains the same, to promote the protection, appreciation and enjoyment of birds andwildlife through recreation, education and conservation.”
The Pomona Valley Bird Alliance remains a local chapter of the National Audubon Society, with all the benefits of affiliation. The chapter will also retain its signature logo featuring its mascot, the acorn woodpecker.
