After 14 years in business, Mesa Pizza, known for its Macaroni and Cheese pizza, has abruptly closed its restaurant in Minneapolis' Uptown neighborhood.

Its final night of service was Halloween, a one-night boon for costumed revelers, with the impending closure announced at around lunchtime Friday.

"It is with heavy hearts that we unfortunately have to announce we are closing," reads a post from Mesa Pizza on Instagram, soundtracked by Semisonic's "Closing Time."

"It was by no means an easy decision but all good things must come to an end... It has been an honor to serve the uptown community. From the drunk person who NEEDS a slice of mac to the pregnant mother [who] NEEDS a slice of mac. We appreciate every one of you to no end."
