KINGSLEY, Iowa (KTIV) - A new fire and EMS building in Kingsley, Iowa has gone up.

“In our old building we couldn’t even open all of the doors on our ambulance on the sides all the way without running into something else,” said Kingsley Ambulance Service’s Crew Cheif, Bobbi Hirschman

In a rural town in Iowa, lies a brand new fire and EMS building.

Kingsley Iowa fire and EMS is made up of 51 volunteer fire firefighters and EMTS.

“Which is not the norm for most small towns,” said Hirschman.

A group of people who run into danger, asking for nothing in return, only hoping to make a difference when it matters most.

The tight knit community does not let their extraordinary work go unnoticed.

“Our community has supported us overwhelmingly over the years,” said Kingsley Fire Chief, Brandon
