If you're a bettor or fantasy football player, these are some names that will need to be periodically checked on before Sunday's slate of games in the NFL. This list contains players who have been ruled out or are questionable/doubtful heading into Week 9, which could have implications on your fantasy roster.
San Francisco 49ers, QB - Brock Purdy
It appears that Purdy will be active for Sunday's game against the New York Giants, but he will not start. The 49ers plan to go with Mac Jones again. It was rumored that Purdy would start this week, but that has since been scrapped.
Minnesota Vikings, QB - J.J. McCarthy
McCarthy will start this week against the Detroit Lions, which will mark his return to the state where he played college football at the University of Michigan. It will be a tall task for McCarthy, and his first start since Week 2.
Atlanta Falcons, QB, RB - Michael Penix Jr. & Drake London
Both London and Penix Jr. will return this week in a game against the New England Patriots. Penix Jr. is back from a knee injury, and London returns from a hip injury with no restrictions.
New England Patriots, RB - Rhamondre Stevenson
Stevenson has been ruled out this week with a toe injury. It will be an excellent opportunity for the Patriots to finally turn TreVeyon Henderson loose.
Houston Texans, WR - Nico Collins
Nico Collins will play in a game against a stout Denver Broncos defense. He missed last week due to a concussion.
Cincinnati Bengals, QB - Joe Flacco
Flacco is questionable this week at home against the Chicago Bears with a shoulder injury. Jake Browning will get the nod if Flacco cannot go.
Carolina Panthers, QB - Bryce Young
After missing the game last week in a blowout loss against the Buffalo Bills, Panthers QB Bryce Young will be the starter this week at Lambeau against the Packers.
Los Angeles Rams, WR - Puka Nacua
The Rams will get star wide receiver Puka Nacua back at home against the New Orleans Saints.
Jacksonville Jaguars, WR/DB - Travis Hunter
Rookie two-way player Travis Hunter will miss the next four weeks due to being placed on injured reserve after hurting his knee in practice this week. The good news? Doctors have reported that Hunter's ACL appears to be intact.
Las Vegas Raiders, WR, TE - Jakobi Meyers & Brock Bowers
The Raiders will get both Meyers and Bowers back at home in a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Washington Commanders, QB, WR - Jayden Daniels & Terry McLaurin
Jayden Daniels will play in a game against the Seahawks on Sunday Night Football. McLaurin has been ruled out with a quad injury.
Arizona Cardinals, QB - Kyler Murray
Kyler Murray will be active on Monday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys, but he will not start. The Cardinals will once again be starting backup QB Jacoby Brissett.
