WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Heavy winds on Friday night caused downed trees to block roadways and even cause some power outages across western Massachusetts.

Around 9 p.m. on Friday night, some of the Hilltown communities like Williamsburg and and Chesterfield experienced power outages, leaving almost 400 utility customers combined between the two towns without electricity.

Some roads were even blocked by fallen trees in the road, causing traffic problems for motorists in some communities.
