REDDING, Calif. - Six registered sex offenders were arrested during Operation Boo on Friday. The Shasta County Sheriff's Office collaborated with Shasta County Probation and California State Parole Agents for this statewide initiative.
Operation Boo involves compliance checks to ensure sex offenders adhere to special conditions during Halloween. These conditions include turning off exterior lights, avoiding Halloween decorations and a curfew from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m., where they must remain indoors and only answer the door for law enforcement.
According to the Shasta County Sheriff's Office, 20 compliance checks were conducted in Shasta County, resulting in the arrest of six offenders for violating registration or probation conditions.
