There are a few stinkers in the Friday the 13th franchise, but one movie is so bad that it has ostensibly been scrubbed from the canon. 1980's Friday the 13th was rushed out to capitalize on the burgeoning slasher craze, but it ended up launching a massive franchise that heavily influenced the genre.
After the first movie, the hulking Jason Voorhees became the franchise mascot and returned for sequel after sequel to terrorize unsuspecting young adults. Though the franchise had its ups and downs throughout the '80s, it remained a popular institution for years. However, one sequel was completely ignored when the franchise got a soft reboot in the 1990s.
