A MAN and his son were arrested for their alleged involvement in beating up and injuring a stray dog at a residential society in Surat city, the Amroli police said on Saturday.

The action was taken on the basis of a complaint filed by a nurse. Police said the incident took place a few days ago at the Shivani residential society on Kosad Road in Amroli, where the dog, named Rani, was allegedly beaten by one Dhashrat Patel and his son Milan Patel, both residents of the same society.

Manisha Gohil, a nurse working at the Surat Municipal Corporation-run SMIMER hospital, also a resident of the same society, regularly provides food and other essentials to Rani.
