GARY, Indiana — An Indiana woman is facing over 30 charges after allegedly being involved in an identity theft scheme.
According to Indiana State Police, police started investigating an identify theft and fraud case in December 2023 stemming from an attempted online purchase from a business in Fishers.
"The suspect allegedly went online, used a stolen identity to open a line of credit with the business and completed an online purchase order," ISP said in a news release. "When an employee of the business contacted the suspect to finalize the purchase, they noticed some red flags regarding the purchase and requested the suspect to appear in person to complete the transaction. The suspect never appeared."
Detectives then examined the information used by the suspect to complete the credit
