FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Fayetteville Animal Services (FAS) kicks off its month-long “Season of Thankfulness” on Saturday, Nov. 1, inviting the community to donate items for holiday treats and provide temporary foster homes.
The shelter’s fourth annual “Kongsgiving” runs Nov. 1-22. FAS is seeking items such as canned chicken, plain pumpkin, pet-friendly (natural ingredients, low in sodium) broth and spray cheese to fill Kong toys for dogs and cats.
The toys are frozen and handed out as special Thanksgiving treats.
“These treats are a simple but meaningful way for our community to show the animals in our care that they’re loved and remembered during the holidays,” Animal Services Superintendent Justine Lentz said in
