"I'm doing this for my children. So, I can have something under the Christmas tree for them," said Zakiyah Dowell, who attended the event.

With her wagon in hand, Dowell arrived early Saturday for the Church of God in Christ's Annual Christmas in November city-wide giveaway.

"I never really expected the line to be that long at three o'clock in the morning," she said.

Toys, clothes, small appliances, and even truckloads of food were among the items given out to families for free.
