IDF says air, land threats posed by Iran-supported militia groups

Both the Israeli Defense Forces and Mossad are preparing for potential attacks from Iranian-backed militias located within Iraq’s borders, the Jerusalem Post reports , citing unnamed military sources.

Tehran is said to have invested significantly in pro-Iranian militias as well as in the terrorist infrastructure in Iraq to grow the developing threat.

Esmail Qaani, the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force (IRGC-QF), reportedly visited Iraq recently to sit down with senior militia leaders there.

An attack on the Jewish state could come by land or air, the outlet reported.

The IDF claims missiles and drones would likely be launched from Iraqi territory first. Soldiers would then infiltrate from the ground, beginning in Iraq, moving through Syria — and potenti
