Gausman had the misfortune of seeing Los Angeles Dodgers Japanese star Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the mound twice in the World Series. Both times the Jays only managed to score once off the Dodgers (with Yamamoto pitching a complete game in the first meeting) and even though Gausman was solid, it wasn’t good enough.
