PITTSBURGH —
Fire rescue and additional emergency responders were on the scene of the Mon Incline for hours Saturday after rail cars carrying multiple people became stuck on the tracks.
A spokesperson for Pittsburgh Regional Transit first told Pittsburgh's Action News 4 that the west and east cars of the Mon Incline became stuck on the tracks about 30 feet from the station at 2:25 p.m. Advertisement
The spokesperson said Pittsburgh paramedics were preparing to rescue roughly 29 passengers after the cars "unexpectedly stopped working."
We're told 24 passengers were stuck on the east car, and five were stuck on the west car.
At 4 p.m., officials were seen climbing onto the tracks to rescue passengers trapped inside using a pulley system.
