SO, Donald Trump is so annoyed by Doug Ford’s anti-tariff ad that he’s ended all trade talks with Canada. So annoyed that he’s threatened an additional 10-per-cent tariff on Canada because Ford didn’t immediately pull down the ad, which continued to run in U.S. markets during the World Series influencing millions of viewers. So annoyed that he wouldn’t even speak with Mark Carney at a leaders’ meeting overseas this week. So annoyed that Pete Hoekstra abandoned all measure of diplomacy and F-worded Ford’s trade rep at a public function in Ottawa in front of a room full of Canadian and U.S. business types.

As is always the case in politics, there is more to this than meets the eye. There is so much more to the president’s petulance.
