KENT COUNTY, Mich. — A man is dead after a crash in Forest Hills, according to the Kent County Sheriff's Office (KCSO).

Around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, a Kent County Parks employee found a vehicle in the ditch along Pettis Avenue NE near Dogwood Avenue NE.

When first responders arrived, the driver of the vehicle, an 80-year-old Ada Township man, was found dead.

Deputies said the vehicle had left the road and crashed into the ditch.

The crash is believed to have happened in the early morning hours overnight, KCSO said, and speed is being considered as a factor.

KCSO is continuing to investigate.

"We extend our condolences to the family and friends of the man who lost his life in this crash," KCSO said.
