CLEVELAND (WJW) – The National Transportation Safety Board announced Saturday it was sending a team to investigate an incident at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
According to NTSB, its team is investigating “a loss of separation event,” that happened on October 29 in Cleveland.
A loss of separation event in aviation is when aircraft fly closer to each other than is considered to be safe based on minimum safe distance rules, which are made to prevent mid-air collisions.
In this incident, NTSB said a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 and a Eurocopter helicopter were both incoming when there was “a loss of separation event.”
There are no reports of any injuries.
