HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — One local foundation is helping out families in need for Thanksgiving.
Members of the SPC Chad Edmundson Memorial Foundation held a food drive outside the Hollidaysburg Hometown Market. The event is helping the foundation stock up for their Turkey Giveaway later in November.
Chad Edmundson was killed in the line of service on May 27, 2009. The foundation wanted to create a foundation in his honor to help military families in need.
Shoppers provided donations of Thanksgiving side dishes and ingredients such as gravy, a variety of vegetables and potatoes, and cranberry sauce. With the holiday a few weeks away, the foundation reminded people of the men and women who sacrificed themselves for our freedom to celebrate the holiday.
