PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A major road is closed after a body was found in south Phoenix on Saturday morning.

Just after 9:04 am, first responders were dispatched to the area of 23rd Avenue and Baseline Road regarding a dead body, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Authorities say they found an unconscious man who appeared to have been hit by a vehicle. The man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The area of 23rd Avenue and Baseline Road is closed down as detectives investigate what led up to the man’s death.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call SILENT WITNESS at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish speakers. The investigation is ongoing.
