FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A Butler teen is dead after being struck by a train in DeKalb County on Saturday.

According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened around 9 a.m. on the railroad tracks in the 600 block of East Main Street in Butler.

When authorities arrived, they say they found a man who had been struck by a passing Norfolk Southern train.

The man, identified as 19-year-old Ethan Fike, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
