COLORADO SPRINGS — The state cross country course at the Norris Penrose Event Center, specifically the water crossing located in the last mile, claimed its share of victims Saturday.
The Loveland girls weren’t immune from the carnage. Some fell. Some crossed the finish line covered in mud.
But one by one, the Red Wolves crossed the finish line, eventually finishing in seventh place a year after they failed to qualify for state as a team.
Loveland totaled 239 points. Niwot finished at the top of the girls standings with 103 points.
