A road in Devon has been closed by South West Water after a water main burst. Pennsylvania Road, near the junction with Pennsylvania Close, Exeter has been shut this evening (November 1) while emergency repairs are carried out.

Devon Alert on X says: "SWW (South West Water) have closed Pennsylvania Road, near the junction with Pennsylvania Close, Exeter, due to a burst water main. Please find an alternative route."

South West Water has said customers in the EX4 area of Exeter may experience lower water pressure than usual or a loss of supply while it undertakes the emergency repairs. The water utility company anticipates supplies to be restored in the next four to five hours.
