ESTACADA Ore. (KPTV) - A search is underway for a man who did not return home from a hunting trip as planned Friday night, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).

Authorities received a call to report the missing man around 6:20 p.m. Friday night.

The man, 51-year-old Devon Dobek of Hubbard, had been hunting in the Mount Hood National Forest, about 20 miles from Estacada, and was expected home earlier in the day after messaging a friend that he had successfully hunted a deer.

CCSO deputies located Dobek’s truck near the Fish Creek Trailhead, off Highway 224, but say there was no sign of either a deer or Dobek - who is described as an experienced hunter.

A full search of the forest began around 10:30 p.m. Searchers reported hearing gunshots at various times overnight,
