A three-alarm fire torched much of an apartment complex in Camden County, leaving one person in critical condition and four others injured.
One hundred residents of 42-unit Autumn Ridge apartment complex C in the Blackwood section of Gloucester Township were evacuated from their homes.
The residents are receiving assistance from the local emergency management office and the Red Cross, township police said.
“We’re still looking for one or two other persons at this time,” said newly appointed Police Chief Anthony Minosse.
One victim is a firefighter who sustained minor burns and is in stable condition.
“This is really bad,” said Gloucester Township Mayor David R. Mayer. “The situation could have been a lot, a lot worse.”
