WESTLAKE, Ohio –

OVI: Dover Center Road

An officer at 1:15 a.m. on Oct. 23 noticed a vehicle on Dover Center Road at Detroit Road driving without headlights or taillights.

The Nissan struck the curb when it pulled over, according to the police.

When the officer greeted the driver at the door window, the 27-year-old Lakewood man immediately said, “Hey man, just take me to jail.”

The driver confirmed to the officer that he had too much to drink to be driving, according to a police department press release.

The driver declined to perform field sobriety tests, saying, “Nah, I’m drunk,” according to the press release.

The driver was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and driving without headlights.
