OAKFIELD, Wis. (WBAY) - Nobody was hurt after a fire that authorities believe started because of a pellet heater in Fond du Lac County on Saturday.
Just before 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, the Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Office and Oakfield Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire on Highland Road in the township of Oakfield.
Crews on scene found smoke coming from the south wall and determined that the fire was inside the walls of the house. The fire was quickly extinguished, which stopped it from spreading to the rest of the house and limited it to the south wall.
Nobody was hurt, and authorities say the official cause of the fire is under investigation, but it’s believed to have started from a pellet heater.
