SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- An elderly, married couple were found dead inside their Del Mar Heights home Saturday morning in what police say appears to be a murder-suicide. • The Nexstar Media video above explains resources for crime victims

According to the San Diego Police Department, officers responded shortly after 7 a.m. to reports of a man down inside a residence in the 12000 block Caminito Del Pasaje.

When officers arrived, they found an 83-year-ol man and woman, both suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. Police say a firearm was discovered inside the home, and both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims have been identified by police as Johann and Kaethe Oesterreicher.
