PHOENIX — Arizonans who receive benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) on the first of the month did not receive their food benefits for November.

The Arizona Department of Economic Security stated that it recognizes the urgency in restoring these benefits, but the federal funds remain suspended.

"Right now, although orders in courts in Massachusetts and Rhode Island indicate that contingency funds are available for SNAP benefits, USDA has not lifted the suspension," a statement from the department said. "As a result, participants approved for SNAP are still unable to receive November benefits until federal funding is released to states."
