AMES — Iowa State football was down but not out until the final whistle.
The Cyclones forced an Arizona State punt with fewer than two minutes remaining for one last chance to claim victory in the Cyclones' penultimate home game of the 2025 season on Saturday, Nov. 1.
The Cyclones marched into Sun Devil territory and while they were able to successfully convert once on fourth down, they were a yard short of a second fourth-down conversion on the same drive, and Arizona State was able to hang on to defeat Iowa State, 24-19.
The Cyclones fell to 5-4 overall and 2-4 in Big 12 Conference play.
