On Nov. 1, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits were not refilled for the millions of Americans who use them to buy groceries. This is a result of the ongoing federal government shutdown after Democrats and Republicans in Congress remain at a stalemate.
Federal judges have ordered the Trump administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture to use a reserve of funding, but the U.S. Department of Agriculture website still says the funding has been cut.
