Thunder Ridge freshman Sophie Taylor was the breakout star at Saturday’s 6A district IV-V-VI swimming championship.

The Titans swimmer took gold in the 500-yard freestyle and won a thriller in the 100-yard backstroke, edging Madison’s Liddy Tlustek by about two-thirds of a second.
