College of the Desert will expand its plEDGE for All program to provide free tuition for every resident — regardless of age, income or educational background — in the Coachella Valley starting in the fall semester of 2026.

Superintendent/President Val Martinez Garcia announced the expansion during the college's 2025 State of the College event on Thursday, Oct. 30, calling it a major step toward eliminating barriers to higher education.
