Srinagar, Nov 1: Former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Saturday said the newly opened Chrysanthemum Garden in Srinagar will be a major draw for tourists visiting the Valley this autumn.

Abdullah visited the garden located inside the Nehru Memorial Botanical Garden and described it as a fine addition to the Valley’s floral attractions. The garden, named Bagh-e-Gul-e-Dawood, was formally opened to the public by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on October 25.

Speaking to reporters, the National Conference (NC) president praised the initiative, calling it a “beautiful effort” by the Floriculture Department. “This garden has been developed entirely with local flowers. None have been imported. It will need less maintenance compared to other gardens,” he said.
