It may have been the morning after Halloween night, but spirits were still high Saturday as more than 100 people gathered for the fourth annual Gratitude Walk at Sycamore Field.

Attendees — some dressed in costume — gathered in groups of friends around a balloon arch, fueled by Starbucks coffee and pastries, one of the event sponsors.

Crystal Lively, the walk founder and organizer, said that her goal in creating the Gratitude Walk has been “to keep bringing the word gratitude out into our community and to put it to action.” With help from friends and community sponsors, Lively has built a memorable tradition run entirely by volunteer effort.

“We’re all here and recognizing the power of gratitude,” she said. “I’m hoping that the community keeps gravitating toward it.”
