Actor Jesse Eisenberg will be donating one of his kidneys to a stranger, the movie star announced on Thursday.

Eisenberg announced his intention to donate one of his kidneys on NBC’s “ Today ”, where he was praised by co-host Craig Melvin for being a fan of blood drives.

“Yeah that’s true,” Eisenberg said. “I’m actually donating my kidney in six weeks. I really am... I’m so excited to do it.”

The actor, who is known for his portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg in “ The Social Network ‚” said in a separate interview on TODAY.com it’s a “no brainer” to donate his kidney.

“It’s essentially risk-free and so needed,” Eisenberg said. “I think people will realize that it’s a no-brainer, if you have the time and the inclination.”
