FORT WORTH, Texas — A Fort Worth Fire Department engine was damaged early Saturday morning after a truck collided into it as it was parked at the 287 interchange.
Two engines were called to a single-car accident at the interchange southeast of Downtown Fort Worth at about 3:30 a.m., officials say.
The driver of Engine 14 had parked the vehicle at a 45-degree angle to protect the scene from traffic, officials say, and within seconds of the last firefighter stepping off of it, a truck traveling northbound collided into the engine.
FWFD says the driver of the car firefighters were originally called to was uninjured. The two occupants in the truck that collided into the engine were trapped and needed to be extracted. Both were then taken to a local hospital.
