WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. — A man broke into a Windsor Locks home and tried to choke a resident inside, according to the town's police department Friday.
Police said officers received a call at 8:13 a.m. about a man attempting to force his way into a home on Heather Lane.
The suspect, who was a stranger to the man living inside, made his way into the home, police said. During a struggle between the two, the suspect allegedly tried choking the resident.
The resident was able to get the man out of the house before he returned and started kicking the front door to regain entry, police said.
The suspect then took off on foot after hearing the police. As officers eventually detained him, police said he "immediately became hostile and combative."
