STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — St. Joseph by-the-Sea brought home the school’s first CHSFL title in over 20 years last season, winning the AA-I championship with an 8-7 triumph over Island rival St. Peter’s.
The Vikings lost a ton of talent and depth from that squad to graduation, but head coach Tressor Baptiste’s young men shook it off along with a trio of losses to AAA team’s to finish the season with a 5-4 overall mark after dumping visiting Xaverian 20-6 at blustery Joe Ryan Field, Huguenot, Saturday afternoon.
