Two people were taken to a hospital Saturday after they fell from a Ferris wheel at the New Roads Harvest Festival.

The Louisiana State Fire Marshal is currently investigating the incident.

A video circulating on Facebook shows first responders calling for a medic as one person writhes in pain under the Ferris wheel. The video shows officials inspecting a pod about 10 feet above that appears to have overturned, tilting 90 degrees but still connected to the larger wheel.

WBRZ reported the two riders were young girls and had to be airlifted to a hospital. The Pointe Coupee Sheriff's Office could not be reached for comment.
