AMES, Iowa —

Iowa State tight end Benjamin Brahmer was injured after an awkward hit during the fourth quarter of ISU's loss to Arizona State .

Brahmer was slow to get up after the hit and fell back to the ground after a few seconds on his feet. The Iowa State medical staff attended to him on the field and eventually called for a cart.

Iowa State confirmed Brahmer was taken to a nearby hospital. He was alert as he was carted off and even raised his hand for a thumbs-up.

After the game, Iowa State coach Matt Campbell told reporters "the feedback we've gotten has been positive" and said Brahmer's hospitalization was precautionary. He was released from the hospital Saturday afternoon, according to Iowa State. This content is imported from Twitter. You may be able to find the same content
