South Alabama’s bowl streak will end at three, its miserable 2025 season will continue for at least three more games.
The Jaguars lost 31-22 at home to Louisiana on Saturday, getting beaten on homecoming by a two-win team. The loss drops South Alabama to 2-7 overall, 1-4 in the Sun Belt Conference, while the Ragin’ Cajuns (3-6, 2-4) kept their postseason hopes alive at least one more week.
Louisiana quarterback Lunch Winfield played a nearly flawless game for much of the day, completing his first 13 passes and finishing 14-for-15 for 232 yards and two touchdowns. The redshirt sophomore — who came into the game completing 51% of his passes for the season — also ran for a touchdown early in the second half to give his team a 31-7 lead.
