Board games of one sort or another have been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
The first I recall is Chinese checkers, a game my wonderful Grandma Iverson taught me when I was 7. The Iversons took my education to cards with canasta at age 10. That led to bridge at age 18, freshman year in college.
I still play bridge on occasion but have never returned to Chinese checkers.
Monopoly and Clue appeared during my school years and whist was played with my high school buddies accompanied by popcorn and ginger ale. I do not recommend that selection of treats for polite games.
Today’s choice is a game I’ve played seldom and never really picked up. It has an interesting history and some film connections we’ll visit.
