BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Two girls were injured on the Ferris wheel at a New Roads festival on Saturday.

Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff Rene Thibodeaux confirmed that the two girls were riding the attraction at the Harvest Festival in New Roads when they were thrown from the Ferris Wheel.

The two girls were rushed to the hospital. It is unclear what condition they are in at this time.

Thibodeaux also shared that all rides at the festival are closed until they can be inspected and cleared by the Louisiana State Fire Marshal's Office.

The Harvest Festival on False River started on Friday, Oct. 31, and runs through Sunday, Nov. 2. Attendees can enjoy food, craft vendors, and live music from names like the 225 Band, Ryan Foret, and the OMT Band.
