Clemson Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney talks to an official Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, during the NCAA football game against the Duke Blue Devils at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina.

Following Saturday's controversial 46-45 loss to Duke, Clemson football has lost six straight home games against Power conference teams for the first time since the 1970-71 seasons. The Tigers will finish with a losing record at home for the first time since 1998 and have their worst ACC record since 1998.

"This is a low of lows," Tigers coach Dabo Swinney said after the Blue Devils earned their first win at Clemson since 1980.

Clemson will need to win three of its final four games to be bowl eligible for the 21st straight season to maintain the fourth-longest active streak in the sport.

Swinney said the defensive pass interference call in the final minute was one of the worst he's ever seen.

"It shouldn’t come down to that. We had plenty of opportunity to win the game, but that’s one of the worst calls I’ve ever seen in my entire coaching career. Ever," Swinney said.

On 4th-and-10 with 49 seconds left in the game, Duke quarterback Darian Mensah threw an incomplete pass to Que'Sean Brown at Memorial Stadium.

However, officials called defensive pass interference on cornerback Avieon Terrell, who was hand fighting with Brown, that extended the drive and allowed Duke to score a touchdown and a game-winning two-point conversion.

Swinney thought a flag should've been thrown for offensive pass interference on Duke and said he was shocked when it was on Clemson.

"It didn't go our way. Must've seen something I didn't see," Swinney said.

Clemson wide receiver Antonio Williams said Swinney's message to the players regarding the call was, "They could cry about it, or they can not put themselves in that position."
