The Eugene Springfield Fire department is under resourced, on that Eugene City Councilors agree. They also agree something needs to change.

What they don't agree on is how to fix it.

Firefighters are advocating for a special district , a new local government with its own board. Willamalane and the River Road parks districts are local examples.
