Phoenix police were investigating the death of a man who was found near 23rd Avenue and Baseline Road, according to officials.

At about 9 a.m. Nov. 1, officers responded to a call regarding a dead body. Police arrived to find a man who was believed to be struck by a vehicle, Sgt. Lorraine Fernandez from the Phoenix Police Department said.

A Phoenix Fire Department crew arrived at the scene and pronounced the man dead, Fernandez said.

Surrounding areas were reopened after being closed off for investigation, according to Fernandez.
