CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. (WNDU) - A game that many thought Notre Dame would win easy didn’t turn out to be all that easy.

The No. 12 Fighting Irish (6-2) overcame a sluggish first three quarters to pick up an ugly 25-10 win against a 1-8 Boston College Eagles team that gave it everything they had.

If you’re an Irish fan, you likely weren’t breathing easy until the fourth quarter thanks to the team’s early woes, missed kicks and costly penalties.

With Notre Dame leading 18-10, Boston College was driving until Adon Shuler made an interception that turned out to be the ultimate momentum swinger.

On the very next play, Jeremiyah Love found paydirt on a 94-yard run to give Notre Dame a 15-point lead that would stand until the clock hit zero.
