The South Jersey Group 1 playoff football game between host Paulsboro and Woodbury ended with 4 minutes, 41 seconds left in the fourth quarter following an on-field brawl between the two teams.
Paulsboro won the game, 38-0. The second-seeded Red Raiders are scheduled to host Schalick in next week’s sectional semifinal on Saturday.
However, Paulsboro’s status could be up in the air depending on any disqualifications stemming from the incident. If three or more players are disqualified, Paulsboro would be ineligible according to NJSIAA rules.
According to spokesman Mike Cherenson, the NJSIAA is aware of the situation and won’t comment any further while the organization is investigating the incident.
