NEW ORLEANS — A man was found dead in Lake Pontchartrain Saturday afternoon, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Around 12:34 p.m., Levee District Police notified NOPD that an "unidentified, unresponsive male" was found in the water near the 7300 block of Lakeshore Drive. The man was declared dead at the scene, police said.

NOPD is investigating the incident as an unclassified death.

Authorities have not released any additional details as the investigation continues.
