Every time Hug and Sparks play in boys soccer, it's going to be a tight game and the 5A-North Regional championship bore that out.

Hug took a 2-1 win in the second overtime on Saturday at Hug to defend its Regional title.

Sparks scored first, on a goal by senior Armando Medina, in the first few minutes of Saturday's game, and held on to that lead until the final two minutes when the Hawks tied it on a goal by junior Andrew Perez Ramirez. Hug scored with about six minutes remaining in the second overtime period for the win on a goal by Julian Enriquez Ornelas Enriquez Ornelas.
